WHAT?
WHEN?
Dear Radiant Church family,
As we approach the season of Lent, we invite you to prepare your hearts for Resurrection Sunday (Easter). Lent is a sacred time of reflection, repentance, and renewal, leading us to the hope of the Cross and the victory of the empty tomb.
This coming Wednesday, March 5th, marks the beginning of Lent with Ash Wednesday—a day set aside for repentance and remembrance. The main Sanctuary will be open 12-1pm and 6-7:30pm. During this time, we invite you to stop by the church during set times for a 10-15 minute moment of prayer and reflection, where you will receive the sign of the Cross on your forehead with ashes. This ancient practice serves as a tangible reminder of our need for God’s grace and points us toward the coming sacrifice of Christ on Good Friday.
If you’ve never experienced this before, it’s simply a symbol of humility and dependence on God, reminding us to turn our hearts back to Him. Lent is an opportunity to renew our focus on Jesus, to seek Him in prayer, and to walk in the grace He so freely gives.
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” – 1 Peter 5:6 (NIV)
“Return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; rend your hearts and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love.” – Joel 2:12-13
Let’s enter this season with hearts open to the work of God, drawing near to Him in repentance, gratitude, and expectation of the resurrection power we celebrate on Easter!
Blessings,
Pastor Timothy
